  • Trail Ridge Road, a primary route used to evacuate flooding victims from Rocky Mountain National Park and the nearby town of Estes Park over the past week, is back open after being closed Thursday morning due to overnight snow and freezing conditions.
  • In a speech both defiant and urgent in tone, Gov. John Hickenlooper said the state is in a "race against winter" to fix the more than 200 miles of state highway that were damaged by last week's flood.

  • Boulder County Sheriff's Office confirms fourth flood fatality.  The Boulder County Sheriff's Office on Thursday confirmed that it has recovered a body in the St. Vrain River bed near Lyons.

  • A Disaster Assistance Center opened Thursday in Colorado Springs for those impacted by recent flooding, providing things like cleanup kits, food boxes, tetanus shots, mental health counseling, tips on dealing with mold
  • Both the City and County of Boulder are trying to make it easier on flood victims to rebuild and get their recovery effort underway. Some of those are free building permits and free curb-side pickup in the city scheduled to begin early next week.
  • Denver police make arrest in attempted kidnapping of girl, 13.  Oscar Escobedo-Vasquez, 37, was arrested Thursday for the incident that occurred Tuesday in the 3300 block of North York Street, according to Denver police.
  • It is going to be months before the infrastructure in the town of Lyons is ready to support residents, town and county administrators announced to a packed room during a town meeting Thursday night in Longmont.
  • The district attorneys for Weld and Boulder counties, along with other authorities, are warning flood victims to beware of fraud and scams.

  • Two flood-damaged storage tanks owned by Anadarko Petroleum Corp., one of Colorado’s biggest oil and gas companies working north of Denver, have spilled an estimated 125 barrels of oil, or about 5,250 gallons, into the South Platte River, according to the company and state officials.
  • Property losses from deadly flooding in Colorado will total nearly $2 billion , about half from housing and half from the commercial and government sectors, catastrophe modelling firm Eqecat said on Wednesday in the first comprehensive estimate of the disaster's economic toll.
