  • State highway crews and National Guard troops worked furiously Sunday to repair highways to Colorado mountain towns cut off by unprecedented flooding.
  • Three major Northern Colorado rivers have become toxic stews following days of devastating flooding around the state, in some cases pushing thousands of gallons of oil over eastern Colorado.
  • More than 200 pets separated from their families in the floods are now living at the Longmont Humane Society.
  • Record flooding continues in western and central Nebraska as the water that inundated Colorado flows east, but it appeared to cause few major problems because communities were able to prepare.
  • Wesley Quinlan liked to make short films and recently was accepted into the Colorado Film School after having ambitions since childhood to become a director.  His girlfriend, Wiyanna Nelson, often wrote poetry, including one about her resolve to remain positive through life’s challenges.
  • Authorities say a 59-year-old man is recovering after he fell about 50 feet while descending North Maroon Peak near Aspen.
  • Two firefighters were injured early Sunday morning when they fell from the lofted area of a Fort Collins business while responding to a call. One was evaluated at the scene and released back to work.
  • A man in a motorized wheelchair was struck and killed in Aurora Sunday night.
  • Gov John Hickenlooper got an up close and personal look at some of the flood damage that caused thousands of gallons of oil to escape.
  • From FEMA: Colorado residents who suffered losses and damages as a result of the severe storms, flooding, landslides and mudslides can get information about disaster assistance at two new Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in Commerce City and Milliken.
  • The I-25 frontage road just south of Loveland has reopened, the state Department of Transportation has announced.
  • A fast-moving thunderstorm that passed Denver's northern and eastern areas Sunday evening dropped a half-inch of rain and lighted up the dusk, and several inches of snow fell in the high country.
  • One of the city's most prominent anti-gang activists was in a Denver jail cell Saturday, accused of shooting another man multiple times during a community rally he had helped organize in Park Hill.
